Empower Employment Program

Empower Employment Program

Who the program is for:

The program is for unemployed or underemployed individuals in our community seeking tools for full-time work and needing hope, support, and encouragement. They may have various limitations, including, but not limited to, chemical dependency, physical health, mental health, income limitations, and transportation.

What the program includes:

The six-month-long Empower Program will begin with an interactive discussion asking ourselves, “How can we enter into a personal relationship with God?” This discussion should leave participants with an understanding of the Gospel message, setting the foundation for the remainder of the program. The Empower Program also includes a faith-based development curriculum combined with on-site work experience, which will make up two days of involvement each week for a total of 10 hours a week. Participants will have 1:1 mentorship to provide personalized guidance, encouragement, and accountability throughout the program.

How does the Program work?

How does the Program work?

The development curriculum rooted in the Jobs for Life Curriculum combines professional development with biblical principles to inspire motivation and conviction for overall personal and professional growth. The curriculum aims to help the participants discover their true identity, fully understand their worth, and build soft skills to boost confidence, whether during an interview or at a job site. Part-time on-site work experience provides life application for our participants, promoting a gradual increase in work tolerance, hands-on training in a specific field, and enhancing participants’ confidence in their abilities and sense of identity as employees.

What do participants get?

What do participants get?

Expectations are given to participants while in the program to prepare for future work, develop confidence in their ability to meet future expectations, and provide tangible examples of effort and growth that can be shared with potential future employers, including timeliness, hygiene, sobriety efforts, and teamwork. While participating in both class and work tasks, participants will be paid for up to 10 hours a week.

How can I be involved?

How can I be involved?

There are many ways the church is able to get involved with the Empower Program and make a meaningful impact on the lives of the people in our community. First and foremost, prayers for the hearts and minds of each participant would be greatly appreciated to encourage their transformation throughout the program.

As mentioned above, each participant will have a mentor to encourage and support them throughout this program and beyond. If you are interested in being a light in someone’s life or have any questions about the program/process, contact Brooke Lovett: brooke@thebridge-ministry.com.

Volunteering at our meal programming is the last way you could support the program. Because of our wonderful volunteers and the love and hope they bring to our guests each week, God has opened doors and led us to opportunities like the Empower Program. If you have any questions about serving or would like to serve at a meal service, contact Bebe Higgins: bebe@thebridge-ministry.com
